AMR's Annual Legacy Giving campaign is the perfect opportunity for family funds, private foundations, churches, businesses, and other civic organizations to demonstrate their appreciation for our nation's caregivers.
​A Mother's Rest owns the nation's ONLY year-round caregiver respite inns, located in Maryland and North Georgia. Every weekend, our inns welcome (7+) weary special needs moms, dads, couples, and other family caregivers for a three-night retreat, where they find uninterrupted rest in a peaceful sanctuary setting, in the company of other caregivers who understand them.

Your generous gift of $2500 (0r more) helps us eliminate the financial barrier to self-care and healing, offering our signature respite retreats in MD & GA FREE OF CHARGE in 2027.
$2500 is our actual cost to host seven moms/dads/couples each weekend at The Terrace Guest House and Lawton Place Manor. This is less than one third the retail rate at a comparable 7-room B&B. Each guest retires in the private, thoughtfully appointed, comfortable room they so deserve, where they can decompress from the 24/7 pressure of caregiving responsibilities.

The Terrace Guest House is the nation's first year-round caregiver wellness inn!
** The purpose of A Mother's Rest is to minimize or eliminate the financial barrier to
self-care and healing for our nation's special needs parents and full-time family caregivers.**
Since 2018, this fully-restored 1798 tavern home in historic downtown New Market, MD has welcomed more than (3000) special needs parents, adoptive parents, and other family caregivers (approx 400 annually). The Terrace Guest House provides a refuge from the heavy responsibilities of full-time care to their children and loved ones. Our year-round, low-cost, 3-night respite retreats provide tangible support through essential, recuperative rest and therapeutic fellowship. Guest donations are just $75 for the full three-night visit, but in this economy, even $75 is more than most of our families can spare.
Room sponsorships help fill the gaps between guest donations (25%) and the full $140,000 per year it costs to keep the Terrace Guest House properly staffed and maintained.
How Many Rooms Need Sponsors? The Terrace Guest House has (14) sponsorable spaces, including (7) guest rooms, the Front Hall, the Kitchen, the Parlor, the Dining Room, the Sunporch, the Hearth Room, and The Tavern Bar.
How Many Sponsors Can One Room Have? Up to (5)
What Is The Cost? A one-time gift of $2500 = one sponsorship spot (out of 5 per room) =the cost to sponsor one weekend for (7) moms/dads/couples. You can sponsor the entire room for the whole year for a tax-deductible gift of $12,500.
How Much Does It Cost To Sponsor A Mom/Dad/Couple For A Respite Weekend? The actual cost to AMR is $350 per visit (x7 each weekend). The requested donation from each guest is just $75. Our goal is to make that ZERO.
How Are Room Sponsors Recognized? All room sponsors' names will be printed on a displayed sign in the room. Businesses, churches, civic groups etc who contribute $10,000 or more annually will have their logo and link on our home page and be shared throughout our social media.
